Welcome to Calvary Baptist Church

As you take opportunity to look through this site, we hope you find it a helpful way to gain a proper introduction to our church. We have included ministry overviews, structures and the names of our ministerial staff. We hope it is helpful information.

The purpose of Calvary Baptist Church is to glorify God by carrying out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, reaching the world with the Good News of salvation, welcoming new believers into the body of Christ, bringing them to maturity, equipping them for ministry, and commissioning them in the world wide missionary endeavor. We desire to share the timeless truths of the Word of God that can change our lives and to see the Lord build us into a loving, caring family. Our desire is to minister to you.

What you will find "between the lines" of this site and what you will have to experience for yourself by being a part of the Calvary Baptist Church family are the greater wonders of what God is doing among us. The space does not allow us to record here the stories of salvation, spiritual growth, and the anticipation of our future lives together in pursuit of the knowledge of God. These are things that cannot be discovered by reading a brochure, but rather by serving Jesus Christ together.

We are thrilled with what God is doing through these ministries. So as you view this site, do so as you would a travel brochure. The brief descriptions may lead you to areas of ministry you wish to explore. If God would lead you to serve the Lord Jesus with us then you too can anticipate a life of blessing and victory. Come, serve, and grow with us.

Kent Holcomb, Senior Pastor

Choral Festival 2008

Fifteen high school girls, eleven high school guys, and six adults made the long trek up to southern Minnesota to attend the 12th and final Choral Festival at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. God granted saftey and no problems with the bus on the trip. The teens and choir directors learned so much from the head of the college music department, Mr. Darrell Bevis, and the guest conduct, Pastor Jim Bishop from Tri-City Ministries in Independence Missouri. Thanks to the parents for allowing the teens to participate, Larry Ade for his work with the choir, the Bowmans for accompanying on the trip, and Caleb Bowman and Pat Marlowe for driving the bus.

Below is a short (4m 15s) video of the trip. Click "Read more..." to see the video.

Fall Harvest Party 2008

The annual Harvest party was another hit!!! Powered primarily by the efforts of the youth group, about 200 children and their families were able to enjoy a safe and wholesome environment on October 31st. There were games such as Ultimate Dumpster Diving, Mount Crushmore, and the Rope Maze. Also, the best "Box Maize" to date was unveiled to the exhilaration of the kiddo's. An added blessing was the first official use of the new phase of the building. Thanks to all those who put so much work into this event.
